Quantcast Advanced Study Group - Ted Matson

Advanced Study Group - Ted Matson

Posted Dec 7, 2008 by matsubonsai

On Sunday, November 23rd we had the 4th Advanced Bonsai Study Group meeting with the Bonsai Society of Greater Cincinnati.  This was the 2nd meeting with Ted Matson as the teacher of record.

Ted is a great guy.  He's extremely knowledgeable about a large variety of trees.  I spent my day working on a number of Japanese Black Pines and a Dwarf Scots Pine.  Pulling needles and arranging branches was the order of the day.

There were a number of other trees from the other participants.  There were a number of pines, junipers, yews, etc.

Here Ted Matson and Dave Billings work on a Ponderosa Pine:

Hi there, your site is very interesting. I bought a bonzai before but it lasted for 6 years only. I also read books about how to take care this type of plant but it didn't help. Well, at least it lasted for 6 years though.
