Last weekend was absolutely beautiful. Warm and sunny, in the low 70's and not a cloud in the sky. I spent most of the day, both Saturday and Sunday repotting trees and doing some general bonsai maintenance. Now, the weather seems to have turned cold and the forecast shows that the week will continue to get colder. Rain and clouds will lead to snow by Friday, which may threaten weekend plans. I just love the weather in the Ohio Valley.
This coming Saturday I and other members of the Greater Louisville Bonsai Society will be headed to Dave Bogan's house near Evansville, IN. Dave has started a new bonsai business. He promises to have plenty of Tokoname and Houtoku pots as well as some pots by Sara Rayner and others, and much more. I hope the weather holds out so we can still make the trip. I'm really looking forward to this trip and hope to have some pictures to share on this blog.
And finally, when I got home today I was greeted by a package from Chicago. I opened and unwrapped the contents to find a fist full of 1 year old Japanese Maple seedlings from Matt Ouwinga. Thanks Matt, I'll take good care of them!
