About the author
My name is John Callaway and I am the owner/operator of Matsu Bonsai. I'm the past president of the Greater Louisville Bonsai Society and a general member of the Bonsai Society of Greater Cincinnati. In October 2009 I graduated from Boon Manakitivipart's 3 year Bonsai Intensive program.
Knowledge
I have been practicing bonsai since 2002, joined the Greater Louisville Bonsai Society in 2003, studying with Boon Manakitivipart since 2004, and have recently joined the Cincinnati Advanced Study Group which is mentored by Ted Matson.
Matsu Bonsai
Matsu Bonsai was started in March of 2008 to fill the needs of bonsai enthusiast. Books, tools, and supplies are available online for order. If you don't see what you need, please contact for more information and availability.
In 2009 the Matsu Bonsai Study Group was formed with a small group of individuals interested in learning more about the art of bonsai. Members have learned proper repotting, wiring techniques, styling, and display preparation. Visitors are always welcome.
