Vote for the Matsu Bonsai blog

Posted Mar 5, 2008 by matsubonsai

Okay, I know the Matsu Bonsai blog is still in it's infancy, but I have a favor to ask the readers.  My plan for this blog is to provide bonsai articles, interesting stories, and plenty of informational posts.  In order to gain more exposure for Matsu Bonsai, and to the bonsai community as a whole I've submitted this blog to the Blogger's Choice Awards.

If you have a moment, please vote for the Matsu Bonsai blog in each of these categories.

My site was nominated for Best Blog About Stuff!          My site was nominated for Best Hobby Blog!

Thank you for your support.

Article posted - Being Successful in Bonsai

Posted Mar 1, 2008 by matsubonsai

A brand new article entitled Being Successful in Bonsai has been posted in the Articles section of this blog.  This article is in response to a few of the questions I've been asked by some newer members of our local bonsai club.  It seems the eagerness of those that have been recently infected by the bonsai bug is often their downfall.  I was also very guilty of this and my trees suffered for it.  I hope that others can learn from those easy mistakes that many of us seem to make.

What are some of your early mistakes?  How can others learn from you?  I look forward to your comments.

Article posted - Inorganic Soil Mixes

Posted Mar 1, 2008 by matsubonsai

While digging through my archives I found several articles and notes that I will be sharing in the coming weeks.  The first article that I have placed on the Matsu Bonsai Blog is one on Inorganic Soil Mixes.  This was written a few years ago, but it is still filled with some valuable information.  Take a minute to read this article and browse the many others in the Bonsai Articles section of this blog.  I look forward to reading your comments here.

The Inorganic Soil Mixes article was first published July 2006 in the Greater Louisville Bonsai Society newsletter.

Article posted - Proper Workspace

Posted Mar 1, 2008 by matsubonsai

Another article pulled from my archive is on Proper Workspace.  I have visited a number of bonsai hobbyists and professionals over the years.  I'm always amazed by some of the tips and tricks that I pick up from my visits.  Some of these individuals are quite ingenious when it comes to their workspace.  Keeping things neat, clean, and organized is a good way to work smarter, not harder.  Check out the Proper Workspace article in the articles section of the Matsu Bonsai Blog.

The Proper Workspace article was first published June 2006 in the Greater Louisville Bonsai Society newsletter.
